Let me be salt, O Lord, to flavor the world with the taste of your Gospel.
YES, LORD, LET ME BE SALT!
Let me be light , o Lord, shining on a hill, radiating your love and compassion
YES, LORD, LET ME BE LIGHT!
Let me be a watcher of the dawn, ready to announce the time of your grace!
YES. LORD, LET ME BE A WATCHER OF THE DAWN!
Let me be a person of the beatitudes, living the values of your kingdom
YES, LORD, LET ME BE A PERSON OF THE BEATITUDES!
Let me be fire, blazing with passion for what is just, true and holy.
YES, LORD, LET ME BE FIRE!
Jesus, you call me to holiness and purity of heart - nothing less.
You challenge me to proclaim the Gospel with conviction and passion - nothing less.
You insist that I serve, and not seek to be served - nothing less.
Ignite me with your passion for the kingdom.
Let me be fire, blazing with irresistible love for you and the Gospel.
Let me flavor the earth with the salt of my faith
and trace the path to you with the light of my joy.
Make me the sentinel of the dawn in this world so dark and cold.
Dare me to put out into the deep water with you
and cast my nets where I never have before.
Amen.
If you want me to love with everything I have,
YES, LORD!
If you want me to embrace the mystery of your plan for me,
YES, LORD!
If you whisper in the quiet of my heart,
YES, LORD!
If you sow the seed of a church vocation in my life,
YES, LORD!
If you call me to be a part of something bigger than life itself,
YES, LORD!
If you call me to offer my gifts to the service of your Body,
YES, LORD!
Jesus, take this fear and anguish from my heart.
I have nothing to fear!
I am worthy in your eyes, even if not in my own.
Peter was, even though he jumped into the lake to cover his inadequacy.
And so each of the twelve:
They upset you, aggravated you, fell asleep on you,
betrayed you, denied you, abandon you...
Yet, you found them worthy of your love
And returned to them a Risen Christ!
You formed the community of the Church with them
through the sending of the Holy Spirit.
Grant me faith, not fear.
Grant me confidence, not anxiety.
Call me, send me, because I am weak,
and your power can shine with even greater force in my weakness.
Amen.
Sower of the seed, God of the harvest, grant our young people of today:
- the ability to discover God’s call
- the willingness to respond to it at the deepest level of their being
- the capacity to discern the most appropriate response to the call
- the generosity to place their talents at the service of others
- the vision to take to heart the needs of the Church
May they embrace with faith and passion your life-project for them. May their first and burning desire be for holiness and union with you. Make them ready to hear your call in the hungers of their peers and of the whole world.
Amen.

Change my world, O Lord! Turn it upside down, knock it over, erase the securities, sever the ties, dispel the doubts, transform the heart! Throw open before me the incredible possibilities your calling implies. Let me wash my nets clean of any selfish interest and ready them to be cast in the service of your kingdom.
Amen.
Enter my life, o Lord! Make it your pulpit. Do not wait for my permission, but catch me by surprise. Have me push out at least a little distance into the sea of human need. Give me a sense of what it means to be an instrument of your Gospel in a world starving for your word of truth. My own soul is starving, o Lord. Let me not resist the food you offer me, your very self!
Amen!
I understand, Lord, that you intend to fill my life to the sinking point with your Grace! Sink my fears, too, o Lord! Sink my old way of life and my narrow way of thinking. Fill my boat with the passion for your Gospel and the fire of your love! Have me call out to others around me, so that other boats may be filled, too and your Grace transform the hearts of my brothers and sisters.
Amen.
Lord, I fall on my knees, painfully aware of my inadequacy before the demands of your kingdom. I declare my weakness and unworthiness. I feel paralyzed by my imperfections and limitations. Stay with me, Lord, for I am a sinful person. Stay with me, Lord, for I need your healing touch. Stay with me, Lord, for I lack a dream to shake my barren day into an extraordinary life adventure. Lift me from my knees, make me stand strong on my feet, set my face to the vision of unimaginable grandeur you have in mind for me.
Amen.
You call me, Lord. From the day I am born to the day I die, you call me, Lord. And, even though I may not notice, you are at work with me moment after moment. Mold me, Lord, continue to shape me, to varnish me, and to chip away my fears until I become what you intended me to be. Dare me to abandon my fishing of dead fish, and launch into the extraordinary journey of fishing people alive! Grant me the courage of entrusting myself into God's hands, fully knowing that falling into his hands will wreck my life to pieces... Yet, it will be my true joy, my salvation.
Amen.
