YSLF Magna Charta
Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2006
Motivations
- The experience of God's love in our lives generates within us the need to share what we have received.
- We wish to improve the society in which we live, whose hope we are.
Attitudes
- We desire to grow in our capacity of seeing God in every young person we meet; to offer the welcome of our hearts; to love unconditionally and without expecting anything back.
- We consider ourselves as instruments in God's hands in facilitating in every young person the discovery of his/her vocation.
Ministry
- We commit to live and develop a culture of the essential, where relations are more important than material goods.
- We want to create a conscience of solidarity, where young people discover that they can both give and receive.
- We will work in our society with the objective of bringing the youth to a personal encounter with Christ.
Styles
- The phrase "Friend, brother, and father" expresses the Pedagogy of Love dear to St. Leonard. This approach to teens is realized by building relations of empathy, by real listening, by patience, tenderness, sweetness.
- The pedagogy of love is a response to the young people's burning desire for communion. It generates a well united family from which the young persons draw strength to give of themselves.
