Think of the YSLF as a Journey of the Spirit.
By joining the YSLF, you begin a Spiritual Walk. You decide to take seriously your Baptismal Vocation and privilege your Faith Growth.
Every journey begins and progresses step after step. Persistence is the key. The pace should be constant and regular. You will find your own rhythm.
A journey is beautiful when shared with others. The YSLF walks on the same path with you. You are never alone. The contribution of every single trekker is vital to the success of the journey. You can not ever think that you are not that important for the group.
You cannot take lightly your commitment to the group.
Your journey will be enlightened by the spirit of St. Leonard himself. You will make your own, in your own unique way, the spiritual vision of St. Leonard.
The Spirit of St. Leonard can be summarily captured in the following reflections:
- God overwhelmingly loves me with a love personal, tender, irrationally merciful, infinite, unconditional, and a love of this very moment and of every moment.
- I am to trust the goodness and awesomeness of God's plan for me always.
- My life will be lived in an attitude of holiness: that is, an attitude of humble, sincere, dedicated, quiet action.
- I will grow in holiness by assisting young people in their journey of faith as I grow in my own.
St. Leonard will ask you to share this incredible love of God with the young. He will want you to be merciful, tender, loving, welcoming toward young people as God is with you.
A member of the YSLF appropriates the spiritual vision of St. Leonard, but also takes to heart St. Leonard's passion for young people, especially those most at risk.
The YSLF has an international dimension. You will journey with many other young people from various continents. Some of them will be your friends. All of them will be your brothers and sisters along the path traced by St. Leonard.
